The Embassy of the Hellenic Republic organizes a piano concert paying Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis celebrating the centenary of his birth, presenting a selection of his work that blends elements of Greek folk music with Western classical traditions, as well as a new composition, on a world premiere.

The young Greek pianist Konstantina Vidalaki, who grew up in Galatas, Crete, the same ancestral land that shaped Theodorakis' early musical identity, brings a deeply personal connection to this tribute. Surrounded by the landscapes, sounds and traditions that influenced the composer, she offers a heartfelt interpretation of his work, highlighting his versatility and emotional depth. Theodorakis' music is a reflection of the human condition, a call for justice and a hymn of hope. Embark on a journey that traverses the scenery of Crete, the struggles for freedom and the universal themes of love and unity.

The Finnish composer Matti Heininen will present, on a world premiere, his new composition inspired by Mikis Theodorakis, reflecting the universal impact of his work and the values mirrored.

The young pianist Konstantina Vidalaki, recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the exceptionally given Gina Bachauer Prize, is considered as one of the most prominent emerging Greek artists of her generation. She regularly performs as a soloist and a chamber musician in world-renowned concert venues in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Greece, and has toured through South America.
