The klpac Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Lee Kok Leong, launches into its Protected content with a special programme of famed German composer and pianist Ludwig van Beethoven whose diverse repertoire bridged the Classical period and the Romantic Era.
Over Protected content ago, Beethoven premiered two of his most important works at the same concert which also marked his very last performance, a few years short of him going completely deaf.
Symphony No. 5 went on to become one of the most famous symphonies of all time with its instantly recognisable four-note opening motif that has been played time and again in the classical circle but also in pop culture and beyond.
Music lovers can also experience a more tender and gentler side of Beethoven in Piano Concerto No. 4, performed by Steinway Artist Dr Poom Prommachart (Best Solo Performance, BOH Cameronian Arts Awards). Apart from an impressive list of accolades. Prommachart also earned a place on the Rector’s List of Honour for the Most Exceptional Graduates when he completed his Doctor of Music programme.
The concert also features Egmont Overture, one of his rare works written for a play of the same name.
