Art After Hours/Live Blues by Roshani
Every Wednesday evening, the Art Gallery of NSW welcomes us into its hallowed halls and throws the ultimate in absolutely free mid-week social and cultural events.
Art After Hours kicks off this Wednesday 17-July with live comedy by Sydney’s Aaron Chen, who recently took out the Directors Choice award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. This is followed by a live music performance from soulful songstress, Roshani.
Roshani was born in Sri Lanka to a musical family. At 6 weeks of age she was adopted by an Australian family and grew up in Tamworth immersed in music.
In Protected content against X-Factor rules by performing an original song, Paid in ink. Initially she was told that she could not appear on the show if she didn’t do a cover but then the producers decided to take the risk. They allowed her to perform her own song and the next day she was number 1 on the iTunes Australia Blues chart. She has since gone on to perform around the world and in Protected content to her birthplace for a reunion with her Sri Lankan family after 28 years apart.
Roshani will perform a mix of blues classics and original songs in a soulful performance not to be missed.
