A bunch of us movie enthusiasts decided to take a break from disturbing movies, and go with a classical one: Casablanca. Romantic enough to be a post-Valentine choice, and existentialist at the same time to satisfy our appetite.
A short summary: Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), who owns a nightclub in Casablanca, discovers his old flame Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) is in town with her husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid). Laszlo is a famed rebel, and with Germans on his tail, Ilsa knows Rick can help them get out of the country.
With a stellar cast, an excellent soundtrack, and a winner of numerous awards (a Hollywood movie!), it remains one of the most beloved and certainly one of the greatest movies of all times. If you haven't seen it yet, this is your opportunity. If you have, come see it again.
Looking forward to seeing you,
