Intermezzo
Hello everyone,
Strauss's comic opera Intermezzo will premiere at the Protected content in April under the direction of Tobias Kratzer and the baton of Sir Donald Runnicles. The libretto, written by Strauss himself, was based on his relationship with his wife. The name of the opera refers to the “intermezzi” that were performed during the breaks of “opera seria” in 18th century. Intermezzi were a kind of mini-comic operas.
