Andrea Chenier

Dear Opera Enthusiasts,
This season, Andrea Chénier graces the Deutsche Oper Berlin once again, offering a renewed opportunity to experience Umberto Giordano’s masterpiece. Premiered in Protected content , this opera immerses us in the turbulent world of the French Revolution, where the poet Andrea Chénier’s passion and ideals collide with the harsh realities of history.
With a libretto by Luigi Illica, Andrea Chénier delves into themes of love, political upheaval, and the personal sacrifices that define them. Under the musical direction of Axel Kober and the direction of John Dew, this staging brings fresh life to a work that remains as gripping and relevant as ever.
I am particularly excited that our dear Nicole Piccolomini, a cherished member of our community, will be performing the role of Contessa di Coigny. Her powerful voice and captivating presence are sure to be a highlight of the evening.
*It will be performed in Italian, with surtitles in both German and English.
Feel free to choose your preferred seat. We can meet before the opera, during the intermission, or for a drink afterward. Tickets are available through the link below:
