Protected content , in partnership with EUNIC Chicago (EU National Institutes of Culture) in solidarity with Ukrainian filmmakers, present an exclusive screening of "Roses," a mesmerizing cinéma-vérité documentary that chronicles the extraordinary journey of Dakh Daughters, an intellectual freak cabaret band created by seven talented actresses from the Kyiv experimental contemporary theater Dakh.

"Roses" is an intimate video diary that spans almost five years, capturing the essence of Dakh Daughters from their very first show. The documentary takes its name from their initial popular song 'Rozy / Donbas', penned long before the Donbas region became the war-torn zone of the so-called 'Russian Spring'. This raw and compelling film explores their creative evolution, challenges, triumphs, and the power of their artistry.

Dakh Daughters, known for their unique blend of music, theater, and activism, have carved a niche for themselves in the contemporary cultural landscape.
