Janina Duszejko is an ageing woman who lives in a rural Polish village. A former teacher who now looks after her neighbors' summer houses, she spends most of her time studying astrology and helping her friend Dizzy translate the poetry of William Blake into Polish. When members of a local hunting club are found murdered, Duszejko becomes involved in the investigation. Drive your Plow over the Bones of the Dead , published in Protected content , is by no means a conventional crime story, but rather a genre-bending noir novel, an existential thriller which offers thought-provoking ideas on our perceptions of madness, injustice against marginalized people, animal rights and the hypocrisy of traditional religion.
