We're heading into the rural northwest of Pichincha, from Hacienda Quindiñan toward Hacienda La Florida, a classic route near Nono.

🌿 The trail winds through a magical transition zone between high-altitude Andean scrubland and Chocó cloud forest, often wrapped in early morning or afternoon mist. Expect towering tree ferns, wild orchids, bromeliads, and moss-draped trees all along the way. This stretch is also part of the Paseo del Quinde Ecotrail, a birdwatcher's paradise! 🐦

Along the way we'll pass through traditional farmland and pastures, with gorgeous views of the Pichincha volcano's slopes. The path follows dirt trails, ancestral chaquiñanes, and rural gravel roads, with gentle to moderate ascents and descents.

We'll descend toward Hacienda La Florida, stopping at the Mirador Infinito before settling further down on a grassy ledge for a well-earned picnic with a view 🧺✨

Getting there: by car or shared taxi, about Protected content from La Mariscal.
Returning: Public transport is available, but it is infrequent. Our best bet is to carpool in taxis to a bus stop in Cotocollao or another more central point.
