🥾 Toctiuco to TeleferiQo Hike (Quito)

Just a short ride from Quito, this is a point-to-point adventure on Pichincha.

⛰️ Level: Intermediate+ | Duration: Approx. 5 hours total (ascent, break at the top and descent)

We start climbing in Toctiuco. The ascent is steep for almost 2 hours, until San Francisco de Cruz Loma. From there the climb continues, but more forgiving. Once we reach the mountain's top ridge path, we walk a semi-flat stretch to TeleferiQo Cruz Loma Station, arriving about 3 hours after our start, for a break with snacks and restrooms.

🧭 Explorer mode: from the Tourism Kiosk above San Francisco de Cruz Loma until we reach TeleferiQo Cruz Loma Station, we go off the beaten path. In April, our adventurous spirits led us from here to Cascada Quitu-Cara. Relive the day: Protected content

🚡 After the break, we descend straight down to the TeleferiQo base station by Vulqano Park. If that descent is not possible, we return through Toctiuco and take a public bus down to the city, a ride as thrilling as an amusement park due to the steep terrain.
