A 17 Km Hike Next to Paris : From La Verrière to Les Templettes

It's a rather easy 17 km hike in the South of Paris, from La Verrière station (train U) to Les Templettes - a very curious construction by the architect Ricardo Bofil, with a picnic stop in Port Royal Abbey (the Abbey is in ruins, it's just a picturesque spot).

Our train (line U) will leave La Defence at 10:45 am. If you have your Navigo Pass, you will not need any extra ticket.
Please plan your trip carefully : there are not a lot of trains in this direction on weekends.

I suggest we meet directly upon our arrival in La Verrière, on the platform, at about 11:30 am.

First, we will walk towards the Port Royal Abbey picturesque ruins where we will have our picnic. Please bring your snack and drinking water with you - there are no supermarkets in the forest 😄

Then, we take the direction of Les Templettes - a modern "Temple" on a lake, created by the famous Spanish architect Ricardo Bofil.

Afterwards, we take a bus to St Quentin en Yvelines station (RER C). So, IT'S NOT A LOOP.

Please bring a blanket to sit on and a snack to share for the picnic. You will also need good walking shoes.
