The “Gimme Shelter” is based out of Midleton, Co. Cork.

Riders head South from Midleton by a series of back-roads through East Ferry to the townland of Inch in East Cork, before swinging around to the North East and starting on a 90 km trek along the Cork and Waterford coasts.

The Protected content route shares the same roads as the Protected content course until after the Youghal Control. The Protected content route then rolls back through the villages of Inch, Killeagh, Mogeely and Dungourney, before descending back to the same finish point in Midleton as the 200.

Audax is a form of long-distance cycling where riders aim to complete long and sometimes tough routes within specified time limits. Audax distances begin where most recreational cyclists and Sportives leave off, at the 200km mark. From there, the distances ascend through the full “Super Randonneur” series of 200, 300, Protected content 600km to multi-day rides of Protected content and more, including the most famed Audax event of all, the Protected content Paris-Brest-Paris.
