About the DJ:
Gely Syrrakou was born in Protected content Aigaleo, where she grew up. From a young age, she would make mixtapes for her friends and spend hours at the Metropolis record store picking out CDs. She studied History and Philosophy of Science, as well as Science and Technology Studies, and at 28 she started working as a DJ at Anthropos bar in Metaxourgeio. Since then, she has created or participated in numerous projects, duets, etc., and has collaborated with several bars and DJs. In Protected content , joined by three other people, she created the Strap-on Unicorns queer parties, which she now continues as a duet. She plays music in various downtown Athens bars under the pseudonym Rrose Sélavy (the female alter ego of Marcel Duchamp and one of his many puns—“eros c’est la vie” or “arroser la vie”).
