The American Dream – Exclusive Curator-Led Tour in English
Join us for a special English-language curator-led tour of The American Dream – Hungarians in the United States, Protected content at the Hungarian National Museum.
Created for the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, the exhibition explores more than two centuries of Hungarian-American connections through stories of migration, ambition, freedom, success, loss and belonging.
From Hungarian freedom fighters and inventors to scientists, artists and public figures, the exhibition shows how Hungarians were not only part of the American story, but actively helped shape it. One of the highlights is the legendary Ford Model T, developed with the important contribution of Hungarian engineer József Galamb.
For Budapest’s international community, the exhibition also raises very personal questions: what does it mean to leave home, build a new life abroad, preserve your identity and find a sense of belonging in another country?
