In Search of Lost Time
Ó-Mátyásföld, planned as an elite holiday district in the late 19th century, is a distinctive Budapest area of generous plots, old tree-lined streets and detached villas - a hidden gem of beautiful turn-of-the-century architecture.
The plan is to walk down Pilóta Street, then turn into whichever street looks most intriguing. Expect shady lanes, eclectic villas, Art Nouveau details and Alpine-style chalets.
