Another pleasant Thursday awaits to enjoy some contemporary Finnish artwork with a group of other InterNations art lovers.

Come join us for a tour of four top-notch galleries in the heart of the neighborhoods of Kamppi and Punavuori.

While most of Helsinki's private art spaces close for the day in this part of the afternoon, our four selected galleries will be hosting the opening night of the exhibitions of

Rauha Mäkilä (abstract painter)
Mari Mäkiranta (documentary photographer)
Carl Michael von Hausswolff (sound artist)
Maisa Majakka (sculptor)

What this will offer us in each case is a chance to meet and chat with the curators of each exhibition as well as the artists who created the work hanging on the walls. This is a fun way to see local art as it offers the opportunity to learn something extra about the artists if you like, as well as see these artists' latest creations with the public before anyone else.

We'll meet at 17.15 in Kamppi Square/Kampintori beside the small sculpture of a bear. To find us via GPS, you can run a search for Levykauppa, a record store located at Fredrikinkatu 59, which is right across the street.

For those coming by tram, the Kampintori tram stop can be reached via trams 7T and 9T.

The tour of the three galleries will entail a total of under a 1,500 meters of walking. We will reach the last one by 18.30.

If we find ourselves interested afterwards, we can pick out a place for a drink, a light snack or a meal.
