Another pleasant Thursday awaits to enjoy some contemporary Finnish artwork with a group of other InterNations art lovers.

Come join us for a tour of four top-notch galleries in the heart of the neighborhoods of Hietalahti, Kamppi and Punavuori. While most of Helsinki's galleries close down near this time in the afternoon, our five selected galleries will be hosting the opening night of the exhibitions of, among others,

Antero Kahila (figurative painter)
Pira Cousin (photographer & collage artist)
Eetu Huhtala (sculptor)
Tuula Lehtinen (figurative painter)

What this will offer us in each case is a chance to meet and chat with the curators of each exhibition as well as the artists who created the work hanging on the walls. This is a fun way to see local art as it offers the opportunity to learn something extra about the artists if you like, as well as see these artists' latest creations with the public before anyone else.

We'll meet at 16.50 in Old Church Park / Vanha Virkkupuisto on the steps of the church (facing a one block squre park. To find us via GPS, you can run a search for Lönnnrotinkatu 6.

For those coming by tram, the Erottaja tram stop can be reached via trams 1,3 and 6.

The tour of the five galleries will entail a total of under two kilometers of walking. We will reach the last one by 18.40.

If we find ourselves interested afterwards, and as it will be U.S. Thanksgiving, we can pick out a place for a meal, a light snack or a drink.
