Las Guaracheras, an internationally acclaimed all-women salsa ensemble from Cali, Colombia—the world's salsa capital—are known for their electrifying performances, outstanding musicianship, and celebration of Afro-Caribbean musical traditions. Their music blends salsa, Latin jazz, and folkloric influences into a vibrant and contemporary sound.
The evening opens with La Cantera, the Cultural Center's emerging artist program, showcasing talented young Chicago musicians exploring Afro-Latin and Caribbean jazz traditions.
