Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was great. A Formula 1 legend.
But he is also a broken man: a dramatic accident ousted him from the circuit thirty years earlier. Since then he has survived on small engagements, between Nascar and minor rallies, sleeps in a camper, lives on memories and peanut butter. Until an old friend, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), now owner of the Apex team, offers him a second chance: to return to the track as a second driver, but above all as a mentor to Joshua "Noah" Pearce (Damson Idris), an arrogant and lonely young talent, unable to work as a team. Kosinski, who had already flown Top Gun's planes, now brings to the runway a highly immersive cinema: syncopated editing (signed by Stephen Mirrione), nervous and vibrant photography, pulsating soundtrack by Hans Zimmer.
