Released in Protected content by Danny Boyle, the film Slumdog Millionaire is based on the novel "The Twelve Questions" by Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup. At the center of the story is Jamal, an orphan who grew up on the streets of the poorest neighborhoods of Bombay, who participates in the television program "Who wants to be a millionaire?" to get his revenge. Protected content is only one question away from winning 20 million rupees, but when the quiz is interrupted for the night Jamal is arrested on suspicion of cheating. So, in an attempt to prove his innocence, the boy tells the story of his life....

The film obtained 10 nominations at the Protected content in Los Angeles, winning 8 statuettes, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Song and Best Adapted Screenplay, grossed more than Protected content dollars worldwide, of which 6.2 million euros in Italy alone. He also won an award at the Nastri d'Argento, a David di Donatello, 4 Golden Globes, 2 European Film Awards, 5 Critics Choice Awards and one at the SAG Awards. The film was entirely shot in India, mainly in Mumbai, in the Dharavi slum.
