When one thinks about breath-taking Swiss landscapes, most of the time the snow-capped Alps or turquoise lakes come to mind.
In some more unknown regions of Switzerland however you might be surprised about the immaculate greenery, small villages, meadows, green fields, orchards forests and hilly tracks. I like to get every so often off the beaten tracks. If you are into the same mindset and willing to broaden your horizons you will be delighted to join us for the following hike where Basellandschaft, Western Solothurn meet and the Northern Jura mountain range begins:
-Liestal – Nuglar – Gempen - Dornach
-Length: 14 km
-Duration: 4 hours should be realistic including a one hour lunch break in the wildlife
-Elevation: Protected content upwards, Protected content , though do expect occasional elevations peaks and some short but fairly steep uphill in the second half of the hike as well as a fairly steep downhill into Dornach in the final hiking phase
-Required fitness level: in order to enjoy the hike, you should be able to keep on hiking for several hours on end and not completely lose your breath on a Protected content uphill. Your fitness level should ideally be intermediate to moderately advanced and you should bring some hiking experience with you.
Have we awaken your interest? If so let’s get down to the practicalities:
