Un Verano Por Metro Cuadrado
Madrid, summer of Protected content . Cerro Belmonte, a humble neighborhood on the northwestern outskirts of Madrid, declares its independence from Spain for a week. Threatened by the City Council with the expropriation of their homes for a ridiculously low price per square meter, as part of a real estate speculation program, the residents begin a powerful neighborhood struggle until they achieve independence. This revolt escalates, eventually impacting an international political issue between Spain and Cuba. Twenty residents of Cerro Belmonte travel to Cuba to meet Fidel Castro.

Through satire, comedy, and political theater, this exciting story of popular power is revived to proclaim the strength of a shared promise. Those who make a promise know that not everything is possible, but not all is lost. To ask today about the power of the promise is to ask: Who can create common time and organize it for us?
