The Hidden Art Garden of Nusle (First Day of Summer!)

Let's "extend" the Open Gardens experience and celebrate the first day of summer on Sunday, June 21.
The owner of the breathtaking Umělecká zahrada (Art Garden) in Nusle has generously agreed to open its gates exclusively for our group!

About Umělecká zahrada (The Art Garden): Hidden in plain sight right under the Nuselský most, between Čiklova street and the railway tracks, lies a magical green oasis with an incredible genius loci (spirit of the place).

- A Sculptor's Haven: In Protected content , prominent sculptor Karel Novák established his studio here. For decades, it was the birthplace of some of the country’s most famous monuments.
- The Magic of Animation: In the second half of the 20th century, the space found a new artistic life as a branch of Jiří Trnka’s studio. Under the direction of legendary animator Břetislav Pojar.
- A Reborn Oasis: After falling into disrepair, the garden has been lovingly restored by its current owner since the Protected content , beautifully blending historical sculptures, architectural fragments, and lush botanical greenery.

During our visit, I will personally give you a tour of the garden and share more stories about its fascinating past.
