Cinemateca present a selection of reels that contain color and black and white images recorded in the first days of the Revolution (between April 25th and May 1st, Protected content .

These are images filmed by directors, cinematographers or operators who followed the dawn of the Revolution, taking to the streets with their own cameras, or bringing together cameras and existing film in various parts of the country, with the aim of capturing the evolution of important ongoing events.

This is an emergency cinema, which we show in crystal clear 35mm images, without sound, and not subject to any editing.
Images that are part of the Cinemateca collection, retaining the roughness inherent to their “raw” quality and an inestimable documentary value.

These are followed by other raw images of the Revolution, this time related to the history of the Cinema Conservatory (which in September Protected content started its first year as a Pilot School).

As part of the recent deposit that ESTC (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema) made of its analogue archives, ANIM identified several rolls of unmounted and soundless film, totaling Protected content of material, which correspond to the entirety of what students filmed that day. 50 years later, Cinemateca presents all of this material (now in digital format).
