A FORMER FISHING VILLAGE PERCHED ON A GREEN PENINSULA, AMASRA IS PERHAPS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OF THE HISTORIC BLACK SEA PORTS.
Donning a golden necklace at sunset, Amasra presents a magnificent panorama. Perched on an historic peninsula, the town is a natural harbor. Amasra and its environs are one of Turkey’s leading centers of boat building, a tradition here since antiquity. Four kilometers from Amasra, Kuşkayası (Bird’s Rock) is an ancient road monument without a counterpart in Anatolia. Built in the 1st century A.D., it is noteworthy for the inscriptions and statue of a king carved into the rocks. The adjacent eagle figure symbolizes Roman power. We will be visitin town with our professional guide and learn all the interesting stories of town.
Amasra trip will be held on Sunday, after Yoruk Village trip & our classic Phyliss Teyze Show :) A very rich program awaits us on Saturday in Safranbolu starting with a culture trip and ending with live music and dinner at the historical hotel we are staying at.
