Xanthi Carnival: A Symphony of Color, Music & Joy
Every year during carnival season, the city of Xanthi comes alive with an irresistible, festive energy.
For almost three weeks, the entire city turns into one big celebration, drawing everyone into a whirlwind of colors, music, aromas, and playful satire. After spending Saturday relaxing in the cafés and fish tavernas of our good old Alexandroupoli, we’ll head to Xanthi on Sunday to join the Grand Parade in the morning. This is when the city truly shines—spectacular floats and thousands of masked revelers fill the streets with music and vibrant colors, escorting the King of the Carnival. It’s an unforgettable experience, and honestly, it’s hard to describe unless you live it yourself.
Fair warning: once you do, you might just become a carnival addict!
