Exploring the Hidden Gems of Kavala & Drama
We will explore the hidden gems of good old Kavala and Drama—places we may have visited before, but never truly seen like this. Offering a completely different perspective in every aspect, the highlights of our trip include:
~Watch a spectacular free-flight display of diurnal and nocturnal wild birds, and even hold a hawk or an owl on your arm.
~Visit an art exhibition in an Ottoman mosque with a minaret dating back to the second half of the 15th century.
~See the Drama Bridge and the nostalgic train station while listening to the folkloric stories of Balkan immigrant generations.
~Explore the Tobacco Museum in Kavala and a traditional 19th-century tobacco warehouse to understand how residents lived back then.
~Taste delicious local wine in a vineyard
~Tour the archaeological museums of both Kavala and Drama.
~Take a scenic walk by Kavala harbor and ride the “tuk-tuk” train to the Old Town.
~Learn about the city’s history and food culture from a local guide while tasting local pastries, olive oil, honey, kourabiedes (almond cookies), and Greek souvlaki.
~Enjoy a traditional taverna with live music and amazing seafood. Experience the beautiful spring evenings on the vibrant bar street.
