A Spring Ramble in the Dandenongs
G'day Trotters!
It's time to get trottin'!
Celebrate spring and welcome daylight savings with an excursion to Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens.
Nestled in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, the botanic gardens transform into a breathtaking wonderland each spring. Vibrant rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, and magnolias burst into bloom, painting the landscape with brilliant colour and fragrance.
Strolling through winding paths, you’ll discover sweeping vistas of the Yarra Valley, serene lakes, and lush fern gullies. Every turn reveals a new display of seasonal beauty, from delicate cherry blossoms to towering trees.
Halfway through our stroll, we will stop for a refreshing picnic at a scenic spot to fill our tummies, rest our feet and to soak in the beauty.
Whether you're seeking an escape into nature, or a photographer’s dream, the gardens in spring offer an unforgettable experience that captures the very essence of renewal.
We will meet at the Garden Cafe Olinda from where you could grab your morning cuppa and some grub for the picnic before kicking off our garden expedition.
Don't forget to wear comfy walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Also, you will need a picnic mat and a small bottle of water (there are drinking fountains in the gardens).
