Batbait (CH) & Hi Mum - Rock
Two new Bands... sounds interesting...
Batbait (CH)
Who is Batbait, and how do they make music that is so intense and strangely beautiful? (Because if we finally let rock music speak for itself, it would say with absolute certainty that it wants to be played by Batbait.) A sound that is far more than distorted guitars and driving rhythms. Here, a sound unfolds that doesn't just scratch the surface, but reveals deeper layers. Glitter in the noise. Against the grain. When the patriarchy falters, Batbait's voice lingers. Accessibility is renegotiated when they shred their songs. DIY isn't a style here, but a lived reality. The four musicians uncompromisingly develop their own musical language, free from conventional boundaries.
Hi Mum
DIY attitude, slacker romance, and a flirtation with MTV's heyday – a familiar aesthetic that somehow refuses to die, and which finds further support in Nuremberg's HI MUM. The quartet masters the interplay of loud and quiet dynamics, as well as the combination of carefree pop harmonies and the obligatory walls of guitar. A pleasant feeling of familiarity, in which nostalgia nevertheless remains only a footnote. The songs are too urgent and the attitude too unpretentious for that.
So we will go... first at the bar, later front row
See you there
