The Peninsular War: Let's bivouac
The Battle of Vimeiro Protected content Protected content fought between the Anglo-Portuguese Army, under General Arthur Wellesley (later known as the Duke of Wellington) and the French Army, under Major-General Jean-Andoche Junot, near the village of Vimeiro (Portuguese pronunciation: [viˈmɐjɾu]), near Lisbon, Portugal during the Peninsular War. This battle put an end to the first French invasion of Portugal.
This year Vimeiro celebrates Protected content , so let's go to Vimeiro and celebrate with the troops, either British, French or Portuguese, it doesn't matter anymore, as today we are all Europeans!
On the 20 May, sunday, there will be a bivouac exhibition on the fields. Be prepared to do some walking on rough terrain.
