Ficciografías Improbables
Improbable Women is a captivating exhibition by artist Ariadna Arnés, who has evolved from traditional photography to creating what she calls “fictionographies”: AI-generated images that blend photographic realism with imagined worlds. Working from the extensive photographic archive of the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya, Arnés reinterprets historical and documentary images to create dreamlike scenes where iconic, everyday, and mythical women inhabit landscapes suspended between memory and imagination.
Through these visually striking compositions, the artist explores the space between reality and fiction, transforming familiar moments into poetic narratives filled with symbolism, possibility, and wonder. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how creativity, memory, and technology can reshape our perception of the past and open new paths for storytelling.
Set within the historic headquarters of the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to discover a pioneering artistic approach that uses artificial intelligence not only as a tool, but as a means to expand imagination beyond the limits of reality.
