Film Screening - "No Other Land"

The Hashim Sani Centre for Palestine Studies, Universiti Malaya, invites you to a screening of "No Other Land", a critically acclaimed film that won the Best Documentary Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards.

This powerful Protected content was co-directed by a Palestinian–Israeli team—Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor. Filmed over five years in the West Bank, the film gives a rare, ground-level view of life in Masafer Yatta that news clips rarely capture, and it has been praised worldwide for its honesty, emotional power and courage.

It follows the villagers as they face demolition and displacement, while an unexpected friendship between a Palestinian activist and an Israeli journalist shines a light on empathy and resistance across divides.

This is more than a documentary—it’s an intimate portrait of courage, loss, and hope in a land where people declare, “We have no other land.”

But "No Other Land", for its many images of despair, still offers a stirring vision for what could be – Israelis and Palestinians working together in the name of justice, collaborating toward a world where both are free.
