Rogê is a bastion on the Brazilian music scene as well as an innovator of the country’s musical heritage. Come along and experience Rogê’s uplifting, soulful, and vibrating sound, when the Rio samba star comes to Protected content in September with his band.
More than 20 years ago Rogê released his debut album. But it wasn’t until the release of ‘Curyman’ in Protected content , that the star from Rio, and his heart-warm, funky, and genre-blending samba, made it internationally. With seven solo albums behind him, Rogê is a bastion on the Brazilian music scene, bringing classical Brazilian music into the future, as it has been said about him in the music magazine Mojo.

‘Curyman ’ is a celebration of samba – as well as an album infused with messages of resilience and redemption. The album reflects Rogê’s deep belief in the power of music to inspire hope and perseverance. In his music, Rogê doesn’t just pay tribute to his musical heritage without looking at its darker histories.

Rogê made “Curyman II” with an international group of musicians who understand old-school Brazilian funk and soul.

Jonas Visti is a huge fan of Brazilian music, and on this evening the Danish DJ will be bringing along a solid stack of vinyl records from the top of the Brazilian music pyramid. Drawing inspiration from Rogê’s musical universe, which looks both backward and forward, he’ll tie a beautiful bow on the night.
