Please take time to read carefully the description before signing up.
With this event we are going to take you to see a very interesting exhibition at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art of four artists that won this year The Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl Nielsen's honorary award. Carl Nielsen was a violinist, conductor, and Denmark's foremost composer, particularly admired as a symphonist. Anne Marie Carl Nielsen was one of the first women seriously recognized as a sculptor.
The award, which bears the couple's name, was founded by their daughters in Protected content . Every two years, the scholarship is awarded in honor of musicians/composers and sculptors. The honorary award is the largest single cultural award in Denmark. In addition to the honor, each artist is awarded DKK 750,000.
We will start this event with bike tour visiting some sculptures by Anne Marie Carl Nielsen, visiting the exhibition at the museum and finishing with a nice dinner.
The four award recipients this year are Marianne Hesselbjerg, Jeannette Ehlers, Bjørn Poulsen and Jens Haaning.
They all have different starting points and approach to sculptural practice. Some are performative, some based on media and some on shaping of materials. Protected content
