Exactly 20 years ago encardia was introduced to us with music and songs from the Greek-speaking regions of the Italian South. They introduced us in Greece to the traditional dances of the region, they taught us the steps, we danced endlessly in their performances, we cried with the folk songs of love, alienation, work and protest of the Greek speakers, we sang with them in the local dialect (Grico), we followed them on their travels them in Southern Italy.
20 years encardia. Thousands of concerts throughout Greece and abroad, two important musical theater productions, seven digital discs and a documentary to their credit.

On May 19th, they are coming for another anniversary concert at the beginning of their second twenty year period.

With their now very familiar personal sound and not only with the songs we have loved so far but also with other Greek traditional songs and their own, from a different perspective. This of a collective that persevered and endured creatively for 20 years, constantly exceeding its limits.

From the tarantella of Salento and Naples and the songs of immigration and their "frutopia", to Vincenzo Kornaro's "Erotokritos" and Raikos of Macedonia, and why not to Yiannis Ritsos' "Illigos" from the "Moonlight sonata".

Renewed, they propose to us through their now very familiar personal sound not only the songs we have loved so far but also other Greek traditional ones and their own with a different perspective.
