In person: producer Luis Salinas
With each sequence directed by a rising talent in Mexico’s film scene, this omnibus feature film connects eight distinctive stories in Mexico City—all sharing the same apartment building designed in the early 20th century. Chronicling a Protected content period, these tales span historical moments from the beginning of the Mexican Revolution to the anti-Chinese immigration campaign; the massacre of the students before the Protected content Games; the Protected content City earthquake; the poverty and drug trafficking of recent times; and, finally, to the spirit of reconstruction and new hope for Mexico in the 21st century.
