In person: producer Luis Salinas

With each sequence directed by a rising talent in Mexico’s film scene, this omnibus feature film connects eight distinctive stories in Mexico City—all sharing the same apartment building designed in the early 20th century. Chronicling a Protected content period, these tales span historical moments from the beginning of the Mexican Revolution to the anti-Chinese immigration campaign; the massacre of the students before the Protected content Games; the Protected content City earthquake; the poverty and drug trafficking of recent times; and, finally, to the spirit of reconstruction and new hope for Mexico in the 21st century.

About the Speaker
Luis Salinas grew up in Houston and still visits relatives here. He is founder of Mexico’s Machete Producciones, which burst onto the international scene in Protected content . He earned his film degree at the Centro de Estudios en Ciencias de la Comunicación.
