Tirititrán Festival: Enriquito Trío (Flamenco Jazz)
Enrique Rodríguez, "Enriquito", born in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), is one of the great representatives of the genre. A trumpet player by vocation, at the age of 18 he began an artistic collaboration with Jorge Pardo. Since then, he has not stopped evolving musically since his debut album "Me quito el sombrero" (Youkali Music), an unprecedented work in which the trumpet and the fiscorno, imitating the cante jondo, take the reins of flamenco rhythms and melodies unfolding, solemn or happy, in a party of unmistakably jazzy improvisations.
His latest album is entitled "Fuentes y Manantiales", his fourth album, which has become an instant classic of the genre. It has been said that "in his hands, the flamenco trumpet acquires, at last, its ultimate, real and definitive entity. That is to say, it displays an intense jondo quality and oozes duende, it pinches".
