Tomoki Sanders Quartet
Tomoki Sanders Quartet is an innovative project led by Tomoki Sanders, a tenor saxophonist of American and Japanese nationality.
Tomoki began his musical training at a very early age: at 4 he was already playing percussion and piano; at 6, clarinet; and from 14, tenor saxophone. His first performance was in Japan at the age of 13.
His father is the legendary Pharoah Sanders, who has clearly influenced him, although Tomoki has developed his own musical language that fuses free improvisation with African American and Asian influences, exploring themes of identity, spirituality, and cultural dialogue.
The quartet is completed by Ian Finkelstein on keyboards, Keyanna Hutchinson on electric guitar, and Christian Napoleon on hybrid drums.
Their music invites a sound experience that transcends genres and categories, placing itself in a space of creative freedom and deep exploration.
