Zurbarán Exhibition at the National Gallery
Hey everyone! Let us join at the National Gallery to see the Zurbarán exhibition together.
Francisco de Zurbarán Protected content was a master painter of the Spanish Golden Age, revered as one of the central figures of Baroque art alongside Diego Velázquez and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. Dubbed the "Spanish Caravaggio," he is celebrated for his strict naturalism, sculptural handling of forms, and masterful use of dramatic light and shadow (chiaroscuro). Working primarily in Seville, his stark, quiet aesthetic came to define the visual identity of 17th-century Catholic Counter-Reformation spirituality.
