Hiking in Mt.Tsukuba
Mount Tsukuba (筑波山 Tsukuba-san) is an Protected content (2,877 ft) mountain located near Tsukuba, Japan. It is one of the most famous mountains in Japan, particularly well known for its double peaks, Nyotai-san Protected content (2,877 ft) and Nantai-san Protected content (2,858 ft). Many people climb the so-called "purple mountain" every year for the panoramic view of the Kantō plain from the summit. On clear days the Tōkyō skyline, Lake Kasumigaura and even Mount Fuji are visible from the mountain top. Most mountains in Japan are volcanic, but Mount Tsukuba is composed of non-volcanic rocks such as granite and gabbro. The area surrounding the mountain is known to produce beautiful granite, and many rock quarries still mine it today.

It’s a rather short course from Tsutsujigaoka to Benkei-chaya-ato, and from there you can climb to the top to Mt. Nyotai by Shirakumobashi Course.
Many big rocks, you need jump about 50cm.
Hiking shoes is indispensable. Do not pull on sneaker, please. Many big rocks in Otatsu-ishi course.
If you have no hiking shoes, you should get on cable car or ropeway.
I can advice to you. Your sneaker will be junk for muddy puddle, slippy root, rocky mountain path. Sneaker will tread a nail into the sole of your foot easily. Sneaker shoes cause all of us slow pace, danger of exhaustion, I'm afraid we've got to cut hot spring time. If you have sneaker, maybe I limit your hiking activity area only cable car station rest house and ropeway rest house for your safety. Therefore, it's difficult to control member, I limit the number of participants approximately 10 people.
I recommend to have backpack, hiking shoes, lunch box. You can eat lunch in rest house.
Please also bring at least 1.5 liter to drink.
You carry national life insurance card, ID card for emergency.
ALWAYS STOP on branch point, branch road, or warning sign, we need check all member.
I'd like to express my deepest appreciation for your help and support.
