Afterwork-Vinotheque-Evening: Old Women's Carnival
Weiberfastnacht (also known as Wieverfastelovend (Rhineland, especially in Cologne), Fettdonnerstag (Aachen), Schwerdonnerstag (Koblenz), Weiberfasnet (Swabia) or Weiberfasching) is the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. It marks the transition from indoor carnival celebrations to street carnival celebrations. In the Lower Rhine region, it is also known as Altweiber (Krieewelsch: Aalwiewer) and, in the Alemannic Fastnacht, as Schmotziger Donnerstag.
