Photo walk and Breakfast at Belgrade Forest
The best green area close to Istanbul is, for sure, the Belgrade Forest. This extensive woodland area, located about 20km from Istanbul, makes for a pleasant city escape.
Belgrade Forest is named for the fact that during the 16th century, Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent resettled the area with Serbs in order for them to guard these crucial water supplies.
Flora of the Belgrade Forest
The forest has a delightful mix of trees including oak, oriental birch, common hornbeam and the Anatolian chestnut. Many varieties of birds and animals such as weasels, deer can be spotted- even the occasional fox or wolf, if you’re very lucky!
There is a 6 km footpath that surrounds a central lake that is a favorite for runners in this metropolis of 17 million people.
Getting to and from the forest may be a little tough if you don't have a car. Fortunately I have car and we are going together .
I am going to pick you up from meeting point.
We are going to see all above mentioned nature and take photos of all and complete 6 km path by walking.
Before forest visit we will get a good breakfast at a famous borek (pastery) restaurant named Protected content nearby the forest. Second choice to get them packed and eat at the forest in pure nature ;)
One who has own car can join us Protected content ıf we have one car more we can increase attendee limit to double.
If you have any question you can contact me on Protected content
