Holi Festival's: Fuldol (Pushpadolotsav) at BAPS Houston
Come join us as we go to see a different facet to Holi Festival on Saturday, March 7th at 4:30pm:
Fuldol, literally the festival of flowers and colors, is observed on Fagun Vad 1, the day after Holi.
It combines the joyful spirit of Holi with devotional celebration in one of the most gorgeous temple settings in Houston.
Spiritual & Festive Elements You’ll See
1. Decorated Flower Swing (Hindolo) for Darshan
A central feature of the festival is the hindolo, a swing lavishly adorned with fresh, colorful flowers.
2. Colors & Water Sprays
Participants engage in joyful spraying of colored water and may toss colored powders (gulal) in a spirited, respectful celebration much like Holi.
3. Devotional Atmosphere
While there is fun with colors, the overall event atmosphere is devotional and respectful.
4. Temple Setting & Community
The celebration happens on the beautifully carved BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir campus in Stafford/Houston.
Expect families, youth, and long-time devotees all coming together in a mixed festive-yet-sacred environment.
Open to all: Non-devotees and first-time visitors are welcome to attend and observe the festivities, even if they don’t participate directly in the color spraying. This celebration blends traditional Hindu festival energy with the Swaminarayan Sanstha’s devotional focus — so visitors see both joyful color play and deep spiritual reverence.
Hope to see you there!
