A Short Guided Tour: All About the Imperial Crown

Dear archeology fan,
Join me for a brief guided tour Protected content about 1 and only object from the past. A rare and remarkable replica of the Holy Roman Empire crown, also known as the Imperial Crown.
It is one of the most important medieval royal insignias in Europe. It is housed today in the Imperial Treasury (Kaiserliche Schatzkammer) at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna (Wien), Austria, but the replica is on display at the Landesmuseum Mainz and looks very much the same.
It is octagonal in shape, made of gold, adorned with precious stones, pearls, and enamel panels depicting biblical scenes and figures, symbolizing the emperor’s divine right to rule.
Having a drink afterwars is optional.
