Autumn Urban Hike
The meeting point is Protected content The Hike ends at Edwards Gardens, and you WILL NEED TO TAKE THE BUS BACK as we will not retrace the route. The hike is approx 4km long, and you need to be of MODERATE/AVERAGE mobility as this is a level 1 to 2 trail (most of it is mainly flat, with ONE SMALL BUT STEEP SLOPE WITH LOOSE GRAVEL AND ONE SHALLOW DITCH). Wear trainers or hiking shoes for this trail.
Its been a varied summer (some might say 'almost' summer). Now that fall is here, lets do an urban hike. There are many little-known trails within Toronto that will give you the opportunity to experience near-rural conditions, and Sherwood (Sunnydene), and Sunnybrook Parks offer an escape from the metropolitan surroundings that we are used to.
With a bit of luck we may experience 'fall colors', as the leaves some of the trees that are unique to Ontario begin changing color.
As of 22nd September, there was a 20% change in colors (see photo showing road). We expect a 50% change by 8th October.
Afterwards, we may go for either a meal or coffee. You may bring as many guests as you like.
