The Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Madrid will present “La donna leopardo/Concept Opera”, a theatre show which was presented at the Festival della Letteratura in Mantua, and performed at the Piccolo Teatro Grassi in Milan.

The show is based on the last novel written by Alberto Moravia, “La donna leopardo”, which includes four characters: a journalist and his editor, and their respective wives. They all travel to Gabon, in Africa, where the journalist has to write a reportage. The description moves from Rome to Africa (where nature is wild and relationships seem to be free from social conventions).

The presentation at the IIC will involve two actors, Valentina Banci and Paolo Sassanelli, and a writer, Lorenzo Pavolini. The three artists will read excerpts from Moravia's works, and will deal with many topics, such as love, marriage, sex, life, nature, travels, Africa, theatre and poetry. The main themes in Alberto Moravia’s novels are the lack of morality, hypocrisy, and the inability to pursue happiness.

The event will start at 8 pm and will last 90 minutes. As there is FREE ADMISSION UNTIL FULL CAPACITY IS REACHED, I suggest you to arrive earlier to get a seat.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
