Noble by Nature: Iconic Riesling From Germany, Austria, & Alsace
Come in and see why sommeliers, wine nerds, and enthusiasts around the world just can’t get enough Riesling, in this electric sampling of iconic German, Austrian, and Alsatian producers.
The Riesling grape, with documented origins along the Rhine as far back as the Protected content , has long been shaped by the vineyards it calls home. This fantastic lineup begins in Germany and highlights benchmark sites including Wittmann’s Rheinhessen estate and Dönnhoff’s Hermannshöhle in the Nahe, followed by Bründlmayer’s Kamptal holdings such as the Heiligenstein site in Austria, known for its ancient Permian sandstone soils. Alsace is represented by Trimbach’s Cuvée Frédéric Emile and Zind-Humbrecht’s Rangen de Thann Clos Saint-Urbain, a steep volcanic vineyard whose southern exposure encourages slow, concentrated ripening. Together, these wines explore how geology, climate, and vineyard position shape Riesling’s structure, aromatics, and capacity to evolve over time.
