Cofre del Perote Perote's Chest (Nauhcampatépetl) the 8th highest mountain in Mexico with an altitude of 4,200m. It's located in Veracruz state. Its a 12 kms hike with an elevation gain of 1,000m. It's not very difficult or technically challenging, so we'll keep it in the category of a Medium Level Hike +.

On Friday August 17th we'll meet for dinner at Protected content from 8:00-9:00. Then we'll drive towards Municipio de Guadalupe Victoria, Puebla (it´s a Protected content drive) to Protected content , where our host, Ing. Rosendo Cortés will lodge us in rooms with bunk beds for Protected content and baths with hot water showers.

On Saturday early morning we'll have breakfast and then head towards Cofre del Perote, we'll be provided with a lunch bag for the day (if you are a big eater, please bring additional snacks for the day). We'll park the cars close to Cofre del Perote to start our hike. For this hike we need to take along food and water (provided lunch bag). At the end of the day we will enjoy a tasty dinner in the Rancho's dining room.

On Sunday we’ll enjoy breakfast and then drive to visit the lagoons in the area: Atexcac, Alchichica, Quechulac y La Preciosa, and then we will head back to the Rancho for lunch and prepare for our return to Mexico City.
