Translation of foreign documents (Amsterdam)

I have my birth certificate in original language (apositlled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, legalised, notarized everything!) and then I have translated paper also legalized (with the same notary stamp, same document number).

Apparently, this isn't enough... The city hall staff isn't convinced that the translation and the original belong together - just because they are two separate papers. They insist that they need to have a stamp that's half/half on each paper.

Is this a valid argument for rejection of my birth certificate? I have a feeling that, if I just had a more friendlier (and professional) staff, who actually wants to help people, I'd have a different luck.

Is it possible to just go to a different city hall? Or, do I get my document translated again as per his demands? What are my options?
