InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Baku

Hello to all Americans in Baku! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Baku? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Baku which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Baku is an engaging mix of the East and West. The Azerbaijani capital is a seafront city known for its strong winds — earning it the nickname “City of Winds” — oil fields and petroleum industry, contrast of historical and modern high-rise buildings, and much more! With the the public transit network consisting of metro and bus services, a funicular, and commuter ferries, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in neighborhoods such as Port Baku or Khutor, which are between 30 minutes and an hour’s commute away from Baku’s center.

Although Baku has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Baku, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
